Born and raised San Antonio, TX but knows the World is Her Backyard
Art has always been a part of her life. She studied art at Texas State University and continued to study art while living in Germany. Over the last 15 years she has curated art exhibitions for both art museums and galleries alike.She is talented in Jewelry Design, Sculpture, Printmaking, Mixed Media and Painting. She returned to painting in 1994. Julie was unexpectedly struck with double vision while driving down the Kansas Hwy while working as an advocate for special needs children. In order to learn to deal with her visual disability she moved to the Texas coast for two years, she lived as a recluse while regaining her eye hand coordination building a complete body of work. Though she continues to see double it is her God given art talent which gives her passion for life.
Her paintings can be found in private and corporate collections throughout the world. She also works with children and adults teaching diversity, acceptance and peace through the arts for she truly believes that art is a gentle diplomat for peace.
- Shown works in over 10 museum exhibitions, 42 gallery exhibitions, and 6 one-woman exhibitions. She participated in the San Antonio Cow Parade and designed the first limited edition commemorative print for Rotary International Convention held in San Antonio.
- Guest of the Department of Interior as Artist in Resident at Buffalo National River as part of the National Parks Programs. She was one of three artists selected for the year of attendance.
